Buying a Home

Buying a home is an exciting and complex and adventure. It can also be a very time-consuming, emotional and costly one if you're not familiar with all aspects of the process, and don't have all the best information and resources at hand.

One of our specialties is representing the best interests of Omaha area buyers throughout the entire home buying process. This WILL make the experience more enjoyable and less stressful.

If you're like most people, buying a home is the biggest investment you will ever make. So whether you're buying a starter home, your dream home or an investment property, why not take advantage of my experience as a local market expert for Omaha to make the most informed decisions you can, every step of the way?

 TIPS FOR STARTING THE PROCESS

 1) GET PRE APPROVED!! Most Realtors and Sellers require this BEFORE you start looking at their home. Decide what you can afford before you go, remember what you can afford on paper is sometimes better than where you are comfortable.

 2) CHOOSE A GOOD LENDER!!! Shopping the internet is not always in your best interest. Ask friends and family who they used and try to use someone local if at all possible. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACTUAL CLOSING COSTS AND FEES TO THE LENDER!!!! This is crucial and we can help you understand this!  Believe it or not if your credit is good you shouldn't have to pay any more than $500.00 to your lender. See our Mortgage page for more info.

3) Look over the purchase agreement BEFORE you find a house. We give everyone a copy of this in your beginning packet. Do take some time to read it over so you are more comfortable when you find your home!

4) Don't let things that don't really add value to your new home be a sticking point. In other words don't rule out homes that don't have hot tubs or fences. Your dream home may not have that and you don't want to miss it by eliminating it from your search.

5) If you decide to go up in price or change any of your criteria YOUR REALTOR should be the first to know! Good and constant communication is important to the home finding process.
